Somebody said that blogs should be kept short so people can read them and then move on to something else. I guess that's why the PBS Television program, " Sesame Street", is so popular with children as they have short attention spans.
This blog is going to be short today, for another reason and that is I don't want to have to think very much and so I get on with other things. I may have another excuse for another short blog in the future but, this excuse will do for this blog entry :)
I hope you all have a great weekend and a smile from this video.
Does Jesus fascinate and enthrall you? Are you in awe of Him, of His majesty, His goodness to you?
He knows us so well. Despite our sins, our failures .... our disgrace towards Him. His mercies are new every morning. This is our God, this is our Savior, this is the Lover of our Soul. I'm in awe of Him!
I enjoy watching science- fiction movies and tv programs. But, I don't enjoy everything that passes for it today. I enjoy movies and tv programs such, as Star Trek and all the television series that use that in the title. Smallville, is good as is Doctor Who.
But, as we are getting closer to Halloween, it seems the cable television network, "The Sci-Fi" Channel", is showing more and more programs that feature things I don't care for. One of these things is senseless murder and bloodshed by evil creatures and sicko people. There's nothing redeeming about these programs and IMO, these type of programs, don't pass for entertainment. I would never pay a penny to see one of them.
I can't stand to watch senseless murders and gorey blood letting and things. I don't enjoy being scared by some sicko, deranged murderer, that is stalking his next victim. And I don't care to hear about the murderers past, how he was abused by people to justify his murders in the present or why some zombie people are on a kiling spree. How is that..... fun entertainment?
Anyway, since it's Halloween almost and I have nothing better to blog about, I thought I do a rant blog about one of my pet peeves, that being script writer wannabees:)
If you're a dog lover then this blog is for you. Dogs seem to live to love us and make our life a little bit more enjoyable. They certainly like being around us and it brings them pleasure as well.
Many of the attributes of our beloved friend are shared by God. His fierce loyalty and love for us are truly amazing. He gave only Son so we might be in his presence forever. What a great God, He is!
I find it fascinating how music touches our lives. I written about this on my Yahoo blog but, not here. I wish I'd copied some of those blogs here and transferred them here onto TypePad before I left Yahoo.
I heard this song yesterday and it's still resonates within in. I've played this song over and over so many times since I first heard it yesterday.
The Lord has an amazing way of encouraging us! And I'm totally fascinated, blown away, by how He does it in so many different ways.
Everyone is looking for purpose for their lives. Can there be any greater purpose than finding out why we are here? Or, trying to understand in some small way, how much God loves us? Then, after examining everything the basics come back to us, the realization, the reality hits us that we're created for a purpose. Our purpose is to know and be intimately acquainted with our Maker, to have a personal relationship with God.
A minister in California said recently that a personal relationship with God is NOT possible. Surely these must be the very last of the last days when an authority figure representing God says something like that! This was said by someone who, from all outward appearances should know about the Lord already and already be intimately acquainted with Jesus but, she doesn't have this relationship and with all of her education she's missed the the purpose of life and the reason for our existence. Without this relationship, we're just a ," vapor in the wind", that will evaporate after a time.
Jesus, said " You must be born again." If you've never met Him, I hope you take this opportunity and call upon Him and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Because it's through Jesus, that God offers us a pardon, a reprieve, from our sins. It's our sins that separate us from God and keep us from having this personal relationship with God. Jesus came to fix us, to restore the lost relationship, He bridged the gap between us and God, by bearing our sins and taking our place on the cross. He poured out his blood so that our sins might be washed away and the way to a personal relationship with God restored.
God no longer holds our sins against us when make Christ our Savior and Lord. His sacrifice becomes our promise of an eternal, personal relationship with God once more. I hope you trust in Jesus today because, He is a promise of a lifetime.....never to be repeated or offered after death.
I don't know why I'm posting this blog? I just thought it was kind of interensting news that the Taco Bell Mascot died.
I've done my share of eating Taco Bell food, probably more than my share. I never needed this dog to inspire me to eat their food.:) But, I enjoyed the tv commercials, they were very clever.
As a bit of trivia, the dog had male voice in the commercials but, he was actually a she. For those who want some more trivia, she was 15 years old when she died. And for some more trivia, they closed our local Taco Bell Resturant last year and the building became a Cricket Phone Store. All I can say to the Taco Bell Mangament is; iYo Quiero Taco Bell Restaurante!
There used to be a television show by the name, " Kids Say The Darndest Things". It's host
< was, Art Linkletter, that's his picture to the left.:) The show was loved because the host would engage young children in conversations about their parents, or ask embaressing question about thielr parents or even asking questions about other things that a young child might know little to nothing about. It was a very entertaining show.
I recently heard an adult remark that, "sexual immorality is not a sin". You might think a child might say something foolish like that but, to hear an adult say it is well........ disturbing. It's disturbing because more and more people are holding to this idea and some are so called, Christians.
Most Christians understand that through accepting the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God offers them a pardon for their sin and that this blood makes them acceptable to God. But, the same blood that forgave them and made acceptable to God, also did another thing, it purchased them as Gods' property. It made them His possession... hence He is both that persons Savior and Lord.
" You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid
for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your
body." 1 Corinthians 6:20
Those are sobering words for a Christian. Jesus said, " You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strenght". The word, strenght, means, your body. You honor God by abstaining from sexual immorality and this brings Him glory. When you have this knowledge in your mind and it permeates down into your spirit, you also then love Him with your mind. Then when you love Him with your mind, you can go further and then love him with your strenght and not engage in sexual immorality.
Many Christians have a zeal (love and passion) for Christ. But, is that zeal, according to knowledge? There are many warnings about sexual immorality in the Bible. I wonder how some people think they are immune from such ........ promises???
There's a lot talk lately it seems about, eternal security and once saved always saved. It can be devisive if we let it be. Perhaps it might be better to say, " As long as we are His, and He is ours, then we are eternally secure." As long this blood covenant is in effect, and we honor HIm as Savior and Lord/Master, we have nothing to worry about.... eternally.
My Mom, is with the Lord. She passed away many years ago. I will see her again but, I most likely will have to go to her. There's a saying, " You never know what you have, untill it's gone." I feel like that now. I always loved my Mom, it's now after all these years I appreciate her more now than when she was alive. Perhaps it similar to the saying, " Seperation makes the heart grow fonder"?
I hope you all have a wonder Mothers' Day! Love and appreciation are good things ...... things you will remember should you become seperated from your Mom. The other times seem to fade in signifigance as times past but, the good loved filled times we will always treassure.
I feel like saying, "Happy Mothers' Day, Mom"! But, she's been having those everday since she passed on. I hope you all have a great weekend and a happy and blessed Mothers' Day. This video is so cool! As I said, most likely, she will not come back to me but, I will go to her and find her.
I saw this video tonight and thought I'd blog it. It's not a new song to me but, maybe it might be for some of you.
There's nothing we bring to God as a token of our appreciation for what He's done for us through Jesus Christ, except give Him our devotion, our lives. Our lives are supposed to be a living sacrifice unto God, which is spirtual duty as a believer.
I've said this before but, I like it, so I"m going to say it again:) ...... God is not our problem and whatever your experiencing, God offers comfort, peace, healing and more. He's everything we want or need and as another song says, " He's the One, we've been waiting for." I hope you all have a great weekend!
The Bible is the only Book that was never meant to be read. Does that sound strange? Well it's true. It's the only book that was never meant to be read, instead, it was meant to be revealed by it's Author. Whenever you get ready to read it, pray that the Lord will open your eyes to be behold wondorous things from His Word and that He will reveal truth to you that will have weight in eternity. You may be pleasantly suprised by what He shows and teaches you. It's a road map for believers in Jesus...... i.e. for those that have accepted the pardon God offers people. It can wash you, cleanse you and feed you. It can make you grow and get bigger........or mature......might be a better word.
It can keep you out of spiritual deception if you do what it says and not just see or hear what it has to say and then not obey it. How cool is that! God didln't leave us alone here on eartth to wonder what is right or wrong.........or better stated......how can we know we are in right relationship with Him by our actions. His Word, the Bible, will show you how to be right with God if your not a Christian too. How cool is that!
